HABIT/DESCRIPTION
Beautiful small garden or patio tree. Gorgeous, fragrant lilac blooms appear in summer for a dazzling display. Multi-trunked and can be pruned to maintain a tree form, or used as a large shrub border. Needs full sun for best flowering. Deciduous.
SIZE AT MATURITY
Fast growing and will reach a size of 15-25 feet tall and wide.
FLOWER
Summer. Purple in color and fragrant.
SPECIAL INTEREST
Attracts birds, butterflies and bees to the fragrant blooms. Drought tolerant once established. Very easy care and relatively pest and disease free. Great alternative to Crape Myrtle.
CARE INFORMATION
Water weekly in extreme heat until established. Follow regular watering schedule for first growing season to allow proper root establishment. Feed with all purpose fertilizer in spring, before new shoots form. Prune in early spring.
